Wiki-Ark
Stateless
As the Typhoon Submarine is being phased out of its strategic missile carrying duties, we are proposing to refurbish them into knowledge centers for storing know-how, research, and other forms of information. The Typhoon will be transformed from a military war vehicle into a node of a global information network. From Typhoon to Wiki-Ark!
We imagine the typhoon submarine to be a swimming and diving ark of knowledge, a moving library, a mobile laboratory, a “think tank”. The Wiki-Ark is completely self sufficient and independent due to its reactor, mushroom/silkworm farms, water and air filtering system and its silos to store grain. It will also have equipment to host talks, presentations and conferences, both inside the sub as well as outside on the land as well as a swimming platform to host meetings on the water. Gained information and knowledge from these gatherings will be recorded and stored within the submarines servers to grow the virtual inboard library, wiki and offline-intranet. Whenever the sub is in a place to connect to the internet it updates it’s database with the latest news and research and also publishes and feeds its newly gained insights to the community to make the flow as seamless as possible.
The Wiki-Ark will be the missing link in the node network of exchanged ideas and consequently help the people to shape their united future and by that make the world a better place for everyone.
